Hello there and welcome!
This is Scott Stansfield and I will be your host as we spend time together here. Time is the capital stock in the game of life. As such, it is valuable. I hope that you find your time here was well invested. If you have questions about the industry or specific issues you are struggling with, please feel free to email me with your questions. I will try and answer them all just as fast as I can possibly do so. As I travel frequently, please grant me the grace of an adequate time period to respond. I get lots of emails!
This blog was created to answer questions about Network Marketing, address issues and to provide training to those in the industry. It has no agenda other than that.
The majority of the information contained herein is applicable to almost every network marketing company if simply adapted to your particular product and compensation plan.
I am a consultant with Zurvita and so some of my material on CD's will reference this company by default. Adapt it to your company and it will work for you just as well as the principles are timeless and universal. You may rest assured that if you contact me with questions, your information is safe. I will not ever try to recruit you out of your company or in any way disparage your chosen company. I would respectfully ask you to extend the same on my behalf! Besides not being a nice or appropriate thing to do, attempting to steal another from his/her company through the use of this blog is not remotely ethical! And ethics count...ALL the time...and in EVERY circumstance. I will, however, answer questions about my company if I am asked as I would expect you to do if asked about yours.
I owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to all who have coached me and mentored me over the 4 decades that I have been in this industry. The name at the top of the list would be my friend Jim Rohn -an icon in this industry and a pioneer in the field of motivational speaking. Thank you Jim for being who you were in my life.
I have provided 3 links to audio trainings that were created for my friends in Zurvita. The first link, "Does Network Marketing REALLY Make Sense?" answers fundamental questions like "is this one of those pyramid things?", " I can't believe you're going to do THAT!", "you've tried this once or____times before", "why don't you get a REAL job?", and "does this industry really make sense?".
This CD is a great place to start whether or not you are brand new or a veteran. If you are new to Network Marketing, it will give you lots of ammo to defend your choice! If you have tried networking before and you did not experience the success you wanted, this will very possibly provide the reasons for your lack of success. If you are an experienced networker, it will reaffirm that which you probably know but from a different perspective. (If any of the links below are not live for you, simply copy and paste them to your favorite browser.)

The second audio is entitled "The Basics for Success". Again, the tips and principles herein can be used by anybody. They make sense and will serve you well. There is FAR too much material covered in this CD to list it here. Just listen to it. I think you will be pleased with what is covered.

The third link I have included here is "Network Marketing Questions and Answers". The name pretty well says what's on it, huh? These are the top objections that EVERY networker will face sooner or later and a form of answer to each objection! Use the answers I have provided as a template to formulate your own if these don't suit your style.
While some of the responses may seem a tad harsh at first hearing them, they have been tried and proven over and over again to be successful. Sometimes potential prospects NEED TO BE SHAKEN UP A LITTLE BIT to make them realize their comfort zone is not really serving their best long term interests! Nothing I say here is ever "mean", but it is designed to be effective; and it is. Again, adapt this to your personality if this doesn't fit for you.

There will be a lot more that follows this initial post. If you enjoy the material, sign up share this blog with your friends as well. It was initially suggested by several industry professionals that I provide this material for sale as so many others have done very successfully. The content has indeed been gleaned (many times through the University of Hard Knocks) over a long period of time and I have paid the price for it. (Truth be known, I have probably failed my way to the top more than once!)
I have decided to provide this to all without cost because it is my belief that when you have been blessed, you need to be prepared to be a blessing in return! Therefore, this is my gift back to the industry that has provided me with a wonderful income, introduced me to incredible people that have become life-long friends and has taught me so much about both marketing and about myself.
It is my firm belief that you are in the greatest industry in the world. Congratulations!
Wishing you all the success you so richly deserve,
God Bless-

Dear Sir...I see that you are a pastor and involved in direct sales. As a Christian, I have some honest questions that you might consider as a shepherd of the souls of people. Our United States Government had in place a high standard for sales companies before the Amway decision to allow them to continue selling their 'products'. They legislated for Amway and other direct selling companies that no less than 70% of their products were to be sold outside of the company to prevent the 'sellers from becoming the buyers'. Will your company stand up in a court of law when held up to this one standard alone? Our government at one time placed a hedge of protection around consumers and prevented them from paying inflated prices for their products. Also, companies existing previously to this Amway decision were only allowed to have 5 layers of sales associates, compared to 10 to 15 that exist in some 'companies'. These two issues alone should be red flags to anyone involved in direct sales. The 'network marketing' term, is often in this day and age a 'cover term' for multi-level marketing companies or pyramid schemes.
ReplyDeleteI have never seen the information that your company presents when recruiting others to sell your company's products. I am assuming that it is no different that any other company of this nature. The recruiting practices seem to appeal to the materialistic side, telling people that in 2 to 5 years if they sign on and follow the 'system' and 'training' that they too can be 'financially free'. Instead, often times if not always these recruiters are setting people on a pathway of financial destruction if they choose to believe these 'promises', and follow them to their deceitful end. They should be forewarned with the scripture...”Those who desire to become rich quickly will not go unpunished.” That should be your high calling and responsibility as a pastor. (to be continued)
I also would appeal to you to research Robert Fitzpatrick's blog..."False Profits", which is full of many insightful and well-thought through articles which were written from the platform of one who has investigated many of these types of companies for the government and is responsible for shutting them down. He has been responsible for exposing unjust and corrupt business practices within these types of companies, where people are not engaging critical and Biblical thinking when it comes to 'network marketing'. My husband and I have been investigating this type of 'business', as a member of our family has been deeply involved in the same type of 'network marketing' company for about 4 years now. They are on the threshold of financial ruin. I hold the people that are responsible for making false and empty promises to them as 100% responsible for the situation they are now in. Which also the government would hold you to when it comes to the plan that you lay out to your recruits and the 'promises' that you make to them. I am so riveted by the scripture.."But if you cause one of these little ones who trusts in me to fall into sin, it would be better for you to have a large millstone tied around your neck and be drowned in the depths of the sea." I don't believe that verse is just about children, as John calls us 'little children' in his epistle. Please, sir...these things like network marketing are not to be understood in isolation. It has taken us over 2 years to gain some understanding as to what our family members are involved in. Please seriously investigate for the sake of all those people that you are responsible for, through business and your church, your role in their lives. What pathway are you responsible for setting them on? Just asking?...
